It might be cooling down in Sydney but that certainly hasn’t curbed our nice cream obsession! This one is so fresh and fruity – it’s the perfect palate cleanser after a meal.
This tropical nicecream is made with 100% fruits. You can also add a plant based protein of choice however this is optional.
We know some people are reluctant to consume too many bananas because of their high sugar content. While it is true that all sugars should be consumed in moderation, the sugars in bananas (and all fruits) are natural, and therefore act very differently in the body. They also contain a number of nutrients that are integral to our overall wellbeing… Potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, folate, manganese… just to name a few.
Bananas are also low on the glycaemic index (assisting with blood glucose regulation) and contain a particular type of carbohydrate called fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS)… FOS are metabolized in the large intestine by gut bacteria, resulting in higher colonies of beneficial bacteria. This helps to correct dysbiosis and associated digestive complaints which so many of us experience.
We’ll take all that as an excuse to make a looottt of nice cream!

Serves 3-4.
Ingredients
3 large frozen bananas, chopped
1 small pineapple, chopped and frozen
1 small papaya, chopped and frozen
2 tbsp plant based protein, optional (we use Amazonia raw slim and tone protein)
Dash of macadamia milk (or nut milk of choice)
Method
- Combine all ingredients in a high power blender, blend until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer to bowls (we of course use our trusty coconut bowls) and top with fresh fruit. Voila!
