What are the health benefits of pecans?

The pecan nut is a power house in terms of nutrients, containing good levels of protein, an impressive mineral profile (including manganese, magnesium, zinc, calcium and iron), vitamins including Vitamin B1, Vitamin E;  and antioxidants… beta carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, ellagic acid for free radical protection and eye health.  They are high in fibre and are a good source of healthy monounsaturated fats. This means these nuts support the body on many levels, providing excellent nutrition with likely benefits in protecting against heart disease and cancer, as well as providing neurological and immunological support.
