Fudgey spiced cacao brownies that just happen to be vegan, gluten free and refined sugar free… But you would never guess it!
We’ve used Amazonia Spiced Cacao Powder (technically meant to be used for lattés but it can actually be used in so many different ways). It is a delicious infusion of cacao powder and traditional Ayurvedic spices including ginger, cinnamon and turmeric. Talk about a healthy indulgence!
If you don’t have this product, you can substitute with regular cacao powder and add your choice of spices.

1 1/2 cups hazelnut meal
1/3 cup cacao powder
1/4 cup Amazonia spiced cacao powder
1/3 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp vanilla bean powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
3/4 cup filtered water
1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup cashew butter
80 grams raw chocolate, roughly chopped (we use Loving Earth)
1/2 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
- Preheat oven to 175 degrees C.
- Combine all dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients (except chocolate and walnuts) and mix well. Then stir through chopped chocolate and walnuts.
- Spoon into a greased and lined baking tin and bake for 45-50 minutes. Turn off heat but leave in the oven for 2o minutes to continue cooking. Allow to cool.
- Place in the fridge for 1-2 hours before cutting.
- Serve and enjoy.
