Decadent and delicious. Not to mention healthy enough to eat for breakfast!

If you’re a dessert for breakfast kind of person (like us), then this chocolate chia and caramel nice cream is a must.

Chia seeds are a great addition to your diet as they are one of the highest plant sources of omega 3 fatty acids (essential for brain health, heart health and reducing inflammation).  They are also a good plant based source of protein and an excellent source of fibre! All the more reason to make this delicious treat we say.

Serves 2.


Chocolate chia

1/4 cup chia seeds
1 cup coconut milk
1/4 cup coconut yoghurt
1/4 cup cacao powder
1 1/2 tbsp coconut nectar
1 tsp vanilla bean powder

Caramel nice cream

2 frozen bananas
2 medjool dates
1/2 tbsp hulled tahini
1 tbsp mesquite powder (optional)
1 tbsp plant based protein (optional)
1/4 tsp Himalayan salt


  1. Combine all chocolate chia ingredients in a small mixing bowl, mix well.
  2. Sit for 10-15 minutes and then transfer to fridge. Allow to set overnight.
  3. To prepare caramel nice cream, simply combine all ingredients in a high power blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Serve chocolate chia and caramel nice cream in your coconut bowls and add any desired toppings.
