There’s nothing quite like a nourishing bowl of oats to start the day on a cold morning. Particularly when the oats are caramel flavoured served with lashings of peanut butter.
We’ve enhanced the nutritional profile of this breakfast by adding chia seeds and superfood, mesquite powder. You can find out more about the health benefits of these foods here.
For fellow peanut butter addicts, you’ll be happy to hear that pb also a number of health benefits associated with it. That does however depend dramatically on the processing and which brand of peanut butter you choose i.e. what other ingredients have been added to it. - 1/3 cup organic oats
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp mesquite (optional)
- 3/4 cup macadamia milk
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 medjool dates
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
- 1 pinch salt
- Place nut milk, banana, dates, peanut butter and salt in a blender, blend until smooth.
- Combine oats, chia seeds, mesquite and banana-date mix in a saucepan. Cook for approx. 10 minutes (time will vary depending on the type of oats you use).
- Transfer to bowls and top with additional peanut butter and/or your choice of fresh fruit.
