Sticky Date and Vanilla Smoothie Bowl

This has become one of my go-to breakfasts when I wake up craving something sweet. It is so thick, creamy and delicious – how all smoothie bowls should be! I also love how quick and easy it is to make.


It is great topped with fresh berries, banana, cacao nibs and desiccated coconut – or if you’re feeling like something extra indulgent, top with a few squares of your favourite raw chocolate (or a drizzle of our choc-tahini sauce!)


You may also like to add any of your favourite superfood powders – mesquite powder or lucuma powder work well. I hope you enjoy x


Serves 1

1 large frozen banana
3 medjool dates
1/3 cup hazelnut milk
1 tbsp hulled tahini
1-2 tbsp hazelnut butter
1/4 tsp vanilla bean powder
Pinch Himalayan salt
1 tbsp pre-soaked chia seeds, optional
1 tbsp cacao powder, optional


  1. Combine all ingredients (except cacao powder) in a high-power blender and blend until smooth
  2. Pour approx. 3/4 of the smoothie into a bowl and then add cacao powder to the blender, blend until smooth
  3. Pour the rest of the smoothie into the bowl to create a swirl effect (optional)
  4. Top with fresh berries, banana cacao nibs and coconut or your choice of toppings, serve and enjoy
